Research Interest

Phylogenomics, Population genetics, Fish taxonomy, conservational biology.
My present research deals with the population genomics of Tor putitora. Tor being an Autotetraploid is an interesting taxon to study. And we LMSE family is trying to assemble whole genome for Tor, which could be a significant work for upcoming research for this taxon. Furthermore, we also aim to explore biogeography for Tor putitora. Beside this, I had always been fascinated working as field ichthyologist and has worked on fish species diversity in many rivers of mid-hill and plain land of Nepal. Prior to being member of LMSE, my works only deals with the traditional way, but now it has extended to molecular level and with various molecular techniques, i aim to study some interesting popular Nepalese fish and add up some conservational strategies which could aid on fish fauna conservation. This could be a satisfactory work for Nepalese fish as it lacks molecular level work and still has many more to be explored.
